Looking for a quick little project to spruce up your outdoor entertaining space for the holiday weekend? A planter is an easy way to add color and interest. Plus you can enjoy your planter for many months to come. Below I've included some pretty planter pictures (try saying that three times in row!) but also some tips for creating a successful planter.

Tips for Making Planters
- Group plants with similar light and water needs.
- Consider growing habits. Plants with looser growing habits can be grouped together while plants with denser growing habits may be better left alone.
- Bottoms of containers should have holes for drainage.
- Leave a little room at the top so water can pool and drain down slowly.
- Enjoy your plants year after year by choosing perennials.
- Keep taller plants in the center or towards the back. Trailing plants should be close to the sides.
